SCNS Border Guard Service reports (regarding Tamdyk border outpost)

The Information and Communications Department of the State Border Guard Service of the SCNS reports that on 16th of September   during an armed conflict in the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border, the Tajik side fired artillery at the Tamdyk outpost of Batken Border Guard Unit and attacked the outpost with superior forces.

The head of the border outpost, at the cost of his own life, enabled the personnel of the unit to reach the dominant height, allowing the soldiers to fight the unequal forces of the enemy and further maneuver.

As a result of massive shelling, the entire infrastructure of the Tamdyk border outpost was destroyed.

The Tajik side used  opportunity to try to clear the territory of the outpost.

As soon as the Border Guard Service of the SCNS of Kyrgyz Republic received information about the presence of Tajik citizens at the Tamdyk checkpoint, necessary measures were taken, as a result of which the Tajik citizens were expelled from the territory of the checkpoint.

At present, the area of the outpost is under the control of the Batken direction of the apparatus of border representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, which constantly monitors the situation at this section of the state border.
