Osh region is located in the southern part of the republic and borders in the west with Batken region, in the north with Jalal-Abad region, in the northeast with Naryn region, in the east with the People's Republic of China, in the south with the Republic of

The region includes 7 districts, 3 cities of district significance (Kara-Suu, Nookat, Uzgen) and 88 aiyl aimak. 
Alai district - with. Gulcha (the center of the district) 
Aravan region - with. Aravan (district center) 
Kara-Kuldzhinsky district - with. Kara-Kuldzha (the center of the district) 
Chon-Alai region - with. Daroot-Korgon (district center) 
Kara-Suu district - Kara-Suu city (the center of the district) 
Nookat district - Nookat city (the center of the district)

The total area of the region is 29.0 thousand square meters. km, or 14.5 percent of the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. The regional center - the city of Osh - is one of the oldest Central Asian cities.
